November 11th, 2011.
We are exactly one month away from celebrating a big milestone in our lives. Our one year anniversary. We decided on a photographer for our anniversary trip mini vacation and we’ve decided on a date (praying that the National Guard allows us those days). We also set up a video shoot with a videographer friend of mine.
And now kids, is where it gets sappy.
Meeting you in high school, the kids that we were, I would have never figured we would be where we are right now in our lives. You’re working on becoming an insurance adjuster as well as serving in the Army National Guard. I’m working with my dad’s company as an insurance adjuster. We’re planning things for our future and honestly, it feels absolutely wonderful. The fact that you gave me the chance to fall in love with you and the fact that you fell in love with me makes me feel so blessed. The person you are is the most amazing man. And I honestly couldn’t have chosen a better soulmate for myself. You look at me the same way you did when you first realized that you love me. You still treat me like I’m a princess. You laugh with me, you’re my shoulder to cry on and the rock and steady thing that I need in my life. My family loves you and your family loves me.
I cannot wait to see where life takes us. Marriage. Kids. Grandkids. And more importantly, many more years by your side.
I love you more than words could ever begin to say Gene Wesley Sparks III.
